Media server for TouchDesigner

We’re about to build a TouchDesigner dedicated media server. Basically what we need is a multi-functional system which could efficiently render complex 3D content, play high-res videos, analyze sensors data, stream in/out data to different communication protocols and applications such as Unreal, Ableton, etc., output to multiple displays.

For now we are looking at these parts:
Intel - Core i9-7900X 3.3GHz 10-Core Processor
Asus - WS X299 SAGE SSI CEB LGA2066 Motherboard
Corsair - Dominator Platinum 128GB (8 x 16GB) DDR4-3200 Memory
2x Samsung - 970 Pro 512GB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive
Asus - GeForce RTX 2080 Ti 11GB Turbo Video Card
Corsair - Carbide Quiet 600Q ATX Full Tower Case

Might some Quadro works better for the non-tearing issues, but that GPU will be quite productive, no? And we can still use Datapath to output to multiple.

Any opinions that we can consider are welcome!

i’d be concerned with the plx controllers on the pcie bus of that motherboard effecting latency.

Overall that seems great. Configs are hard to pin down because if you are trying to do edge cases then that’s when it really matters. E.g Ultra high res playback may require more SSDs, in extreme cases.

maybe not the rtx 2080 right now?? there seems to be a high failure rate…

so what about 2080ti? does it run well?
