Houdini attribute transfer equvalent

Is there an equivalent to the houdini atributetransfer sop.
Or is there a different approach to map data on to sops like a grid using data from other sops or particles or à still image or video.

Would like to map video or still images onto a grid with copied spheres.
The image could influence size and or color.

In your case, you can apply UVs to the grid using the texture SOP in points mode, and then use SOPto send the UVs to CHOP, and TOPto get color from a map on the specified UVs. You can add that color channel to the CHOP that you send to the geometry component instancer, and you can use it there.

But the lack of attribute transfer is a problem, we definitely need it.

You can use a point SOP to assign and move vals to custom attributes.
