UV Bake and Unwrap?

Is there a way to

  1. UV map a 3D object
  2. modify textures, project lights, etc onto the object
  3. Bake the textures lights etc onto the surface UV
  4. unwrap that UV displaying all the surface treatments?

I’m trying to pixel map a 360 degree LED sculpture and create content that is informed by the shape.

Notch has a similar workflow using the UV Camera.
