Windows Configuration and Optimization

Are there any general or specific guidelines for optimizing Windows for use with TouchDesigner?
Especially for show machines…

Of course one thing I always do is make sure to setup a custom power profile so that the display never goes to sleep…

For instance I know there are some appearance settings that hog CPU time, and some windows services that don’t need to be enabled. (microsoft office? why?)

I’m also wondering about Windows Firewalls, turning off Windows Defender
I definitely don’t want anything that might interfere with network communications between multiple show machines…

And turning of all the damn windows notifications, and disabling Cortana in Windows 10 to start…

for instance here is a few tips I found online:
searchenterprisedesktop.techtarg … e-settings

Anyone have any other tips to share?

this is written for of users on the mac, but it is a good checklist to run through, and has some linux and windows links at the bottom:

some other things i don’t see in your list:
turn off bluetooth if you aren’t using it
set the bios to startup automatically after a power out
setup scheduled shut downs and startups (esp if the piece is on for longer than a couple of days).
create a startup task with your exe or toe file
