What would be the best codec to work in realtime from a single ssd disk *without cineform
running on BOOTCAMP?

I would recommend h.264 or Photo Jpeg. H.264 has better compression, but Photo Jpeg is sometimes better if you need to randomly access the movie (ie. scrubbing, jumping to cues, etc). Anyways, those are the 2 codecs we use most of the time.
