Arc text?

Hello, I’d like to be able to arc text in TD, as per this image:

Any ideas how it might be done? I’m currently using ImageMagick to create a text image, then importing into TD, but if it can be done in TD, I’d love to know how.

MW.

The easiest way is to use a Text SOP or a Font Sop ( or Trace Sop of a text top), followed by a Twist sop. Render a geo with this in it and use your render TOP. I would do this for a one time solution.

A more flexible automated system would be to replicate single letters…Something like a sop to dat with the same number of points as you have string characters merged with your string to use as a template table., then each replicant could contain a single letter being translated to the position of the sop points, as defined in the template table.

This also could be done with tops, for a somewhat crude example that illustrates 2d text curvatures search ‘note compass’ on the forum, I have an example that you could pick up on the principle, but a rendered 3D version would probably give you more control.

Here is an example

Many thanks - the text sop with a twist sop worked great, using these settings:
