converting to .tmv

Not sure if this should go in bugs, or here…

I just finished running some tests with mcp.exe.

Two things to note.

  1. The tmv was upside down.

  2. The colours were inverted (i think). Almost looked like a negative.

The movie I used to convert from was a 720p QT (h.264).
I’ll try other codec conversions as time permits.

2b. I saw no performance gain. Actually a loss. Usually I can get 2-3 720p mov’s running smooth. In this test, one tmv was choppy with tears with identical parameters as .movs.

Hey, TMV was created a few years ago when CPU speed were slower. It’s a fully uncompressed movie, so it uses almost no CPU, but takes a lot of HD speed to work correctly (you’ll need RAID 0 going, or SSD drives).

With multi-core CPUs, you’re better off with H264 nowadays
