Small Scale Projection Mapping

Hello,

Apologies in advance if this post is in the wrong place or is a little vague, this is my first post on the forum!

I am a college student who is currently working on a project in which I will be video projection mapping. I am creating my own motion graphics to project onto several small geometric 3D shapes, to make a music video for an original piece of electronic music. The shapes will include a cube, rectangular prism, triangular prism, hexagonal prism, triangular pyramid etc. I’m going to have 8 of these sat on and against a white background (which will also be projected on) in a wide shot. They are also white, around 8cms in size on each face, and they won’t move throughout. I’m using an NEC NP210 projector.

I wanted to ask if you have seen many of these projects be created before, and if anyone can recommend any I could watch to help me with my research? Also I would love to hear any advice you may have regarding projection mapping small scale, as my set up will only be around 50cms x 50cms altogether?

Many thanks,
Jen

Hi Jen,

Welcome to the forum!

I don’t know too much about projection mapping, but was reminded of the video in this Derivative blog post: https://www.derivative.ca/Events/2015/VincentHouze/. Hopefully, proves a good jumping off point.
