Hyperwish - Interactive Installation

Hi to evrybody!

Hyperwish is an interactive installation made by the students of Digital Environment Design of Naba in the year 2008.
Here a screenshot of the installation

This installation is built using these softwares:

TouchDesigner 077 - for the central screen
Processing - for the 2 lateral screens and for the input station
Max/MSP - for the interactive sound
and a data base written in PHP, created for storing wishes of the users

The installation wants to collect all the desires of users who comes to visit it using 2 (or more) input stations.

All desires are stored inside a database and there are 3 screens that visualize this desires by different views.
My screen is based on the semantic words.
We used an engine that search hyponimism of the input words, that are kept from the unique words of the desires. Then we post this information on a web Page every 30 seconds.

Using a DAT web converted to Table I selected eachone cell of this table and converted again in TOP. After merging all the words I’ve put it in color map inside a unique MAT Phong. This MAT is offsetted on the different rects inside the 3D.
It does an automatically Fetch on the DAT Web and all the textures change with new words and their hyponimism.

Here is a video about what you can see on the central screen.

I did this visual at home using the mouse instead the OSC, and I activated and deactivated manually the screensaver…

The navigation inside the world is controlled by moving the lighting ball placed in the centre of the room and tracked from the top by an IR Cam. Data’s are send in OSC to Touch and using a CHOP Speed you can “fly” inside this tunnel that is a simple (big) Torus .
I’ve created also a screensaver that is activated when the ball remains inside a little range more than 10 seconds.

Here there is a little Video of Hyperwish.
