Intel RealSense update

Hi,
Any chance we could get the RealSense components updated to support the 2016 runtime? The SR300 camera is a significant upgrade and the SDK and runtime feel a lot more stable in this latest release.

Thanks and I did download that branch build posted by Malcolm on that thread which at least lets us work with the new camera in a similar (but not quite complete) way as the old.

So I guess the request is can you now merge it into the parent build, and work on some of the bugs and missing (and entirely new) functionality?

I more than agree,
I think because of the VR and AR trend, the Kinect and realsense nodes should
offer as much features as possible from the SDK …
both specially the real-sense could have more touch and polish…

Apologies for the spam, but I’m reposting a short version of my Realsense feature request from the Hardware forum here.

I’m using the SR300 in 099 and it’s great, but these device parameters are in my opinion crucial must-haves:

  • Laser power level [0-16]
  • Filter option [3-7: very close to very far range]
  • Motion range tradeoff [0-100]
