Re: B12330|Point normal attribute not passing in sop to chop

Postby guarana » Fri Mar 15, 2019 2:31 pm

I'm on macOS 10.13.6

on latest stable build (27910)
you need to add vars like this:
P N
tx ty tz nx ny nz

lastest exp build (12330):
For me the normal toggle is on and the data is there.

Which version/system are you on?

Hi , well its not the sop to chop,
But for some reason the "add" sop turn to zerp the N attribute (thanks).
Just take a look on the example and the version is mentioned in the headline.

I`m change the bug to focus on the add sop.

In the Add SOP, on the 'Post' page the "Compute Normals" toggle is on. This is re-computing the normals but after you have deleted the geometry and just left the points. You'll see if you do not re-compute normals they are untouched, or alternatively if you turn off 'Delete Geometry, Keep Point' the normals are kept as well.
