viel Danke Achim!
it was an old comp, back when Jarrett's comps pack was proving their existence; but I've remastered it so it is fast and straight forward now. I've been using it a lot these years, almost all of my projs have some instances of it, so it might as well work for anyone.
This comp wasn't very practical until I applied a blur size optimization.
when you reach a certain blur size, its pre-shrink value jumps one step and the blur size gets divided by this number. It may be simple, obvious maybe, but that chronic fear of big blurs and slow frame rates will disappear. The visible effect will remain very similar if the threshold is set correctly.
probably blurs should always be limited in this way, at least when used in performing chains.
Also by the way, the blur scale should also be divided by the global resolution multiplier, so its output stays more constant, independently of the Global Res Mult setting.
anyway, I will paste this blur thing into the whish list section.
thanks for the feedback.
