3D with OpenGL requires Quadros on Nvidia cards, so it's a low priority feature right now. If someone needs it for a big project though they should contact us directly about it.

I'm using these glasses on my geforce 9800. So there is no need for Quadro to use nvidia stereo glasses

There is if the app uses OpenGL though (like Touch). Only Direct3D works for 3D with Geforce series cards.

do the nividia glasses use infrared pulses to sync with the alternating left-right images from the screen?
I have some old 'crystal eyes' glasses that I was thinking to recycle. I figure it's best to just hack up something directly in touch rather than to try to make it compatible with the nvidia stuff.

I remember someone had some old shutter glasses synced to their program by having a block of pixels in the corner of their image that flashed black and white. They then stuck a photocell to the screen and used that to send the clock to the glasses.

okay, so that probably doesn't solve your Nvidia 3D problems but might be fun to try anyway.

if you are feeling brave, a geforce card can work with quadro drivers but I have heard mixed reports from those trying it. :)

Rod.

Recent Nvidia drivers support 3D on OpenGL for geforce cards not only Direct3D :!:

Hey Sheff,

I know this isn't exactly what you are after (working inside Touch Designer in 3D)
but it is a quick camera and render template (that I made) for exporting movies to be played on a 3D player.
Players such as : Nvidia 3D Vision Video Player

maybe this can tide us both over until santa brings us Quadros ,
or santa figures out how to access the screen refresh rate in TouchDesigner,
and then input that into a Switch Top and then output it to the 3D vision glasses.

Jim

Here is screenshot from nvidia download page, I know that these drivers are for Linux but the point is that OpenGL now supports 3Dvision, i think may be windows drivers now supports it too?
