NVIDIA NVS 4200M

Postby oleheggli » Tue Nov 01, 2011 8:29 am

Hi,

The newer Thinkpads all come with the optimus Nvidia NVS 4200M with 1 gb ram. Would this be sufficient to run Touchdesigner? It's probably set up with business driver though. My old z61m with the ati x1400, 128 mb ram, is having a really hard time running Touchdesigner.

In general the NVS chips aren't meant to run 3D applications. It may work, but it may not and I doubt I can get Nvidia to fix any bugs you may encounter. I would stick to regular Geforce or Quadro models.

Thanks. I'll check out the 200m-series on the workstation models of Thinkpads.
