audio sounding bad in Touch audioplay CHOP but not in WMP

Postby rodberry » Sat Apr 28, 2012 3:52 am

a client is reporting crappy audio from .mp3 files played via audioplay chop in touch but the same files sound fine in Windows Media Player.

anyone else had this happen? It happens on one machine and not the other.

touch is driving me mad this week (the path of true love did never run straight).

same for me but is happening with Audio Stream CHOP. I am a total newbie to this system so cant offer any help sorry but sometimes its nice to know your not the only one.

I was simply taking a sample toe file and attempting to swap out the .mp3 the creator was using for a loop to see what would happen to his visuals with my music and the audio is not happy at all.

Tried all sorts of settings in the CHOP but to no avail

It not a wildly grunty laptop but its still quite recent in specs.

**** UPDATED **** must be the laptop specs. frame rate is very low.

AudioPlay CHOP surprises me, I havn't heard reports about that.
With Audio Stream -> Audio Out, the key is making sure your frame rate is high enough that the Buffer Length of the Audio Out CHOP never gets drained. If you have a buffer length of 100ms, then make sure you never have a frame that takes more than 100ms, otherwise the audio card will run out of data and will crackle.
