render pick with oculus controller

having problems with instance select using the render pick from the wonderful viveGeoPanel from the palette.
very unstable - running at 90fps, so should be reliable.
doesn’t always pick…I have only 162 instances!
can anyone enlighten me on what the process is in the renderpick callback script to grab the pick uv’s?
not seeing u and v actually change in values of the DAT that comes out of the renderpick DAT
(transpose1 in the vivGeoPanel) - remains at .5 .5…I’m obviously looking at the wrong value.

simply attach a cam to controller
render (even at 1x1 pixel)
and use this render for render pick
input to the render pick should be a table with uv at (.5,.5) - ie. centre screen
so obvious!
