V Slider?

Created a slider, selected it to be a ‘v’ vertical slider, and set its height to 200, width to 50. Looks fine but the knob only moves horizontally not vertically, and this is true for both the component itself when viewer is active and in the the ‘view’ window? What undoubtedly simple and silly thing am I missing?

Did you create the slider from the OP Create menu?
If so the knob (a separate custom panel network) may not be setup to automatically adjust itself to the parent slider.
Have you tried using some of the slider examples from the palette preconfigured for horizontal or vertical use?

I did try selecting the ‘v’ option from the slider parameters menu. Is that what you mean? And I just stumbled across Matthew Ragans’ Vertcal Slider blog, in which he not only deals with the vertical bit but tackles a bit o python too. And thanks for your response.

No, I meant, selecting a pre-made vertical slider component from the palette selection area on the left hand side of the application, which is all set up for vertical motion.
Cheers,
Rob.
