arrow keys for nudging OPs around in the network editor

Postby rodberry » Thu Aug 09, 2012 2:36 am

currently the up and down arrow keys don't do anything I think (?)
it would be handy to be able to nudge selected operator tiles up or down.

at present, the left and right arrow keys pause the timeline and jump to next or previous frame.
It would be cool if they only did that when the timeline is paused but otherwise were used for nudging Ops left or right in the network editor. I find this very useful in using PureData to just tidy things up in a netowrk.

Agreed. Also, maybe holding down Ctrl while using arrows can move the camera either up, down, left, or right. The combination of those two would make for a few less mouse grabs.

I don't know if this is of any help, but there is an option into Control Panel >> Ease of Acess Center >> Make the mouse easier to use (at least in windows ) for using the numeric keypad for moving the mouse: "Control the mouse with the keyboard".

While left-clicking, one can move operators using the numeric keypad with this option enabled.
The mouse speed can also be modified into the mouse parameters.

It is a bit tricky and not as convenient as if it was directly implemented into TD,but it does what it says.

Edit: There are also some more advanced and custom solutions like the following autohotkey script for keyboard to mouse translation.
