Boston based Game Designer needed

Research group based in Northeastern University seeks a Boston based Game Designer capable of designing and developing an interface for the VIRTUAL THEATRE OF THE OPPRESSED project.

Re-envisioning the Nobel Prize winning interactive theatrical work of Augusto Boal by placing it into a digital environment. Players become characters interacting with avatars in workplace scenarios of oppression (gender discrimination, status & privilege abuse, cultural biases, etc). Players work towards re-playing these scenarios, gathering observational accounts of other witnesses and therefore gaining broader cognitive empathy in order to resolve the systems of oppression. The project has begun development and is aiming to produce a first working digital prototype by January 2015. The engine will use non-verbal gestures and cuing to attune players to more nuanced interaction.

Designer will collaborate with a faculty team based in Computer Science, Game Design, Psychology and Theatre.

Paid position. Please send CV and cover letter to ma.gray@neu.edu
