FIXED: Text DAT editing issues

When editing Python code in a Textport DAT, sometimes when selecting text the highlighted area does not correspond with the actually selected text (the highlighted area is a few chars ahead). This occurs seemingly at random.

When searching for some text using the search field at the top, the search is re-started each time after an edit of the found text.

BTW, it would be nice if it was possible to do search and replace.

Hi Axel, Try searchReplace.tox which will be in the palette soon, here now: viewtopic.php?f=22&t=19501&p=59574

We’re aware of the text mis-editing problem, just trying to find a repeatable case… maybe on long lines.

Hi Axel,
We’ve seen the cursor offset in macOS before and are just trying to find a way to reproduce it reliably to fix it. Thanks for the report.

Hi there, occasionally I get a cursor offset on Windows, too.

Just found that when the textport view is shifted to the right (ie. some text on the left side is hidden from view), the highlighted text error occurs.

We found the root cause of the problem and this should solve it in both DATs and the Textport. The next build after 2019.17700+ will have the fixes.

Cursor offsets should be gone in 2019.18300, now available!
