099 Cannot install V.12100 on Windows 7 SP1. V.4580 works.

Hi Guys,

I am currently running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1, but I am unable to install any 099 version from 12100/10000… down to version 5040. Version 4580 works fine, but I did notice in your version 5040 release notes that the minimum requirement was set to SP1, so technically it should be ok?

Release Notes V 5040:
“Minimum Windows operating system requirement is now Windows 7 SP1. Removed Windows 7-before-SP1 as supported OS from installer.”

The error:
During TD installation process, when it reaches the “Configuring Windows Features” step, I get a Windows Package Manager error reading as follows: “Operation failed with 0x80070490 Element not found”. The installer proceeds to cancel installation and shuts down.

Attempted fix:
I tried running the following in the command line to no avail:

  1. Open command line > sfc /scannow > Enter (did not fix).
  2. Open command line > DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth > Enter (did not fix).

Specs
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (6.1.7601, Build 7601)
Memory: 8192MB RAM
Intel(R) Core™ i7-3770K CPU @ 3.50GHz (8 CPUs), ~3.9GHz
DirectX 11
AMD Radeon HD 5450 (crappy, yup… )

Let me know if this is expected behavior, I will stick to version 4580 for now since it’s working ok.

Cheers!

make sure your win7 has all it updates
