||TOUCHDESIGNER WORKSHOP SYNOPSIS
Eager participants are invited to join us at EM15! Learn from the Derivative team and Obscura's Barry Threw how to use TouchDesigner to create beautiful art and intuitive tools to light, move, track, control, map, automate and synchronize your world. TouchDesigner is the visual development platform used to create such spectacular works as KineticLights/GRID, Bot & Dolly's BOX, Dromos & ObE, Amon Tobin ISAM, and more.
Master the fundamentals over this 2-day workshop with Barry, Ben, Markus and Greg! For anyone interested in attaining a working knowledge of TouchDesigner quickly, this is the time and place. Registration is limited so reserve your spot now.
TouchDesigner is a real-time visual development platform that can be used for creating interactive media systems, immersive/projection mapping environments, music visuals, building custom applications and UIs and for rapid-prototyping creative impulses.

Equipment that participants need to bring along: Laptop or PC running Windows 7, or Bootcamped Mac running Windows 7. Graphics card must be NVIDIA or ATI/AMD Radeon with 512 Meg graphics memory and the latest drivers. NVIDIA Geforce 9800, Quadro 1400 or better, or Radeon 5000 series or better. Prepare Your Laptop
Install the latest TouchDesigner Non-Commercial license available here.
If you haven't updated your graphics drivers in a long time, it would be a good idea to check for new ones at Nvidia.com or AMD.com.
Open TouchDesigner to make sure everything is working. If this is the first time running TouchDesigner on this laptop it will ask you to create a key. You will need to be a member at www.derivative.ca to create a key, you can register here: http://www.derivative.ca/Login/RegisterForm.asp

Watch/Study These Tutorials
To get the full value of this workshop it is required that registrants have studied the “First Things to Know About TouchDesigner” video tutorials found on the Derivative Wiki. These 3 tutorials will show you some basics of the interface so you'll know how to get around TouchDesigner. This will be helpful to prepare you for all the topics we want to cover in the workshop.
